Sekuensaa is a table top interactive musical sequencer commissioned by Telefónica (Movistar) and developed at Sensaa.

The project started in 2009 with a prototype sketching the basic functioning of the audiovisual material . The development of Sekuensaa was a challenging and enriching process summing up the creative forces of a state to the art motion recognition software, visuals real time processing, music composition, sound design and midi programing. Out of the box, Sekuensaa is a very user friendly device permitting non expert musicians to create songs from scratch by composing beats and grooves, combining bass loops, layering ambient pads and improvising wild solos. Furthermore, sounds can be shaped and processed in real time (filters, distortion, pitch, etc) giving plenty of possibilities for experimentation during jams or live setups. Sekuensaa has been installed at Telefónica (Movistar) headquarters, Gran Vía 28, Madrid (Spain).

GROOVE WRITING - MAY 2010

funk groove

Many popular contemporary music styles rely heavily on a "Groove". A "Groove" emerges from the entrainment in musical performances  and is inherent to the style. More commonly, we perceive a "Groove"  as an ever surprising organic flow, inviting us to move and feel  in resonance with the music.
A new set of "Grooves", in a wide variety  of contemporary styles has been added to the Music section of this site. For starters, here is a Funk/Jazz Groove.
